Timed Climate - vents on but no FBH or flashing auto light
Sorry to start another FBH thread...however....Timed Climate was working perfectly on our MY12 HSE but stopped working some point last week. I've done some testing and have noticed that at the preset time the blowers inside the car do come on, but the FBH doesn't seem to fire and I've also noticed that the AC Auto light which usually flashes when the Timed Climate has activated is not lit. Any ideas where to start looking? Thanks.

How cold is it where you are? Does the FBH fire up when you start the car in cold conditions or is it not working at all?MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

It failed to fire on timed first thing this morning when the temp was minus one and the car had been standing overnight. I was doing some testing when I got back from work today, temp about 2 degrees, engine cold. I suppose a low battery is possible but then why would the vents activate? There's plenty of fuel in it. I'll go and check now whether the FBH fires when the engine is started.

Difficult to tell whether it fired on engine start. Will check it more carefully in the morning. Is there a fuse for FBH that I should check?

The other thing to do is get your codes read. I had a module communication error, which stopped the FBH firing, but once I cleared the fault, it was back to working correctly.D4 MY14 XXV - RLD/IID BT

Did some more testing this morning and I'm pretty sure the FBH doesn't start with the engine either. Car had been standing overnight, outside temp zero. Started engine and even after a couple of mins the FBH exhaust was still cold. FBH fuse intact.

Ok, so now your battery has a little boost, switch the engine off, switch ignition off, switch the radio on and then on timed climate option, hit the manual heat button on the screen. Does it try firing up then?Bodsys Brake Bible

I've also just noticed that the Timed Climate menu on the Touch Screen is greyed out whenever the engine is running. I don't think it behave that way prior to the FBH fault but can someone confirm?

Turn the engine off and see if it's still greyed out

Not greyed out when engine off I.e. Either ignition on prior to starting or stop engine then press audio standby to turn screen back on. If you have ignition on, timed climate button is active but greys as the engine starts.

Dropped by my indie last week. FBH locked out. Fault cleared through SSD, purged and tested. All working correctly again. It is kind of irritating that these can get locked out and the only way to get it unlocked is through a diagnostic tool. I appreciate that the FBH shouldn't run when the fuel is low, but why doesn't it just unlock again when the fuel level increases?
