Pressed the plip on the remote yesterday afternoon when the temp was over 30 degrees, the green light flashed as it should, auto was set in the car, 20 mins later went out to car and it was sweltering in the cabin!
Why? Anyone any ideas?

It only draws air from the outside ...it doesn't cool it. I tried this on Saturday and the cabin did cool slightly but as it was drawing air in that was 30 odd degrees it is never going to perform miracles 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Well to be fair it does only say that it 'vents' the cabin ...and it does just that ...if it's 35o in the cabin and it spends twenty minutes drawing in air that's 30o then it will technically be 'cooler' than it was before .....it wasn't stifling and I wasn't unimpressed ......but it's all relative tbh 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Interesting to watch the US version of a VW Passat add a few years ago where the key fob started the car (kept it locked) and allowed the AC to do it's magic. All with a Darth Vader theme ISTR. I think the UK version of the same add switched the lights on. No way the greenies in charge over here would allow the US version to happen.

Yes, I was really to be honest!
What's the point of it then, if, when it's baking outside, all you're doing is bringing in more hot air. Might just as well open the windows when you get in and let the heat out, which we all do anyway before the Aircon kicks in.
As someone says....a gimmick!!
Not mad, just disappointed Will still buy another though

I have found that it works to an extent and can take the edge off a super heated car to make it more bearable but the device does what it says it does, it vents the car, the only way to 'cool' it would be to have the engine running and the AC switched on. Cheers Ian

I'm with Wiggs on this one , only way to cool things down is hold unlock 'till all windows open
It is certainly one of the most useful features on a hot day
Global closing works too Cheers Ian
