time for a new battery - which one

its time to replace the D4 battery before installing the dual battery setup after Geoff plugged in all the bits to turn the car into a sauna first thing in the morning. Brilliant.

PS: Geoff I will have the trailer tent at billing with a cool box full of beer for you to tuck into.(if the batteries on that work)

so

What is the recommended battery to replace the original. mine is 3 1/2 years old so not an AGM.

any suggestions? Question

Sounds like there may be no aftermarket options for the ATM batteries which see to be £200+ from the dealers

I shall research further

I've just typed in my reg number to EuroCarParts and found about 9 different batteries that they suggest will fit.

I've had Bosch before and know them to be good quality (5 year warranty too) and I can see that there's an Exide one listed.

Are these no good? Does it REALLY have to be a dealer only job?

i may well be down southampton way in the near future so will be in touch when i know when.

Presumably there is no "special" way you need to disconnect and re connect the new battery?

Well a bit special.

The car needs to go to sleep, which takes a few minutes with the key fob away from the vehicle, before removing the negative cable first. On refitting fit the positive first and the negative last.

Best done with the car unlocked and the driver's window open, just in case.
