Have decided time to move on and say goodbye to Discovery ownership.
Haven't decided yet if I'm going to sell privately or take a hit and trade her in. Don't really have a need for something so big especially as son in law is now driving and has his own car.
Has been a really good experience and this forum is one of the best and friendliest I have ever had the pleasure and honour of being a part of. 2006 TdV6 HSE.

Pretty much same as me, seemed a bit mad to drive around on my own in something that cost a lot to fuel, tax and maintain. Kids left home, mrs rarely passenger and given age was getting a bit worried about the dreaded - best car I ever had though.
What you thinking of getting? Now Golf GTI PP, 7 speed DSG.

Must admit fuel costs were never a worry as only do about 4000 miles a year.
Am looking at the Ford Focus 2.0tdci. About a 2013,2014 model. 163bhp and over 300nm of torque plus the Titanium X has loads of toys. Love my toys 2006 TdV6 HSE.

If you don’t need or use the capabilities of the Discovery, it doesn’t make any financial sense to have one.
Hope you enjoy whatever you get. The Focus is a great handling car. 👍 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Thanks for the offer dazboy but don't really need an estate plus did look at the 1.6 but prefer the 2.0. I will miss bits of the Disco. Love the raised driving position. I can understand how yoy can have more than one of these. They do get under ypur skin. I may well be back in something with a green oval in the future. 2006 TdV6 HSE.
