Just a thought and maybe not for this green lane. But landowners can apply for a exemption from the environment agency and dispose of inert material on such paths. Often it's used to support structures. If they work it right they can get paid around 5 pounds per ton for receiving such material. Material can range from clay to sandstone etc.
it's worth bearing in mind and happy to help with the relevant forms if needed.

Work has already started to support the walls.
