Thule Euro Classic Pro 903 |
|
Before i invest the thick end of £250.00 on one of these bike racks i just wanted to check if any other members had one fitted to the removable tow bar.
Does it fit Ok, and is it worth the money.. It's so much cheaper to buy this sort of stuff on the web, so i need to make sure its OK..
The exact model is Thule Euro Classic Pro 903.
Cheers i'm lovin it....

No, I don't have the adapter, I only ever have two bikes on there. We put it on our Landie as well, so I have the spare wheel adapter which cuts you down to 2 bikes. If the adapter is as well built as the rest of the rack then it will be solid as a rock. Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE

Have a look in my gallery - Thule 903 mounted on removeable tow ball.
It is the only way to carry bikes I will never go back to roof mounted or rear door mounted - a wise investment. Some say the glass is half full. Others that it is half empty. I say 'Are you drinking that?"

Yep, I can highly recommend it too. I also have a removable tow bar I was concerned how the bike rack could grip well enough to support 3 mountain bikes while traveling a long distance.
Soon after buying it (last year) we set off for Cornwall from Chorley, Lancs with a well loaded Disco & 3 Mountain Bikes and it was solid as a rock the whole way. (and I kept checking it at every services we stopped at - I'd had visions of three mountain bike bouncing down the M5 in my rear mirror... )
I've used it many times since and I'm still very impressed. A high quality bit of kit. I've uploaded a photo taken just before we set off on that first trip showing how the bikes were secured.

Thule Euro Classic Pro 903:
One further question please.
Does it in anyway damage the ball surface?
I can’t get my mind round how these things grip so obviously securely on a ball without bruising it in some way.

Don't forget the 13 pin - 7 pin adaptor...
The best deal I could find last year was from www.roofracks.co.uk - a 903 EuroClassic Pro & a Thule 13 pin-7 pin adaptor & Free Del for £259.95.
It might be worth canvassing the forum to see if there are others interested in buying and then contact them to see if they would do a deal. The chap I dealt with there was called John Copson.
Hope this helps.
