| How to test auto chromatic mirrors with IIDtool ? |

Hi there !
I just saw a video of the ThinkDiag 2 that allows to test auto chromatic mirror(s).
I don't find how to do with IIDtool. Anyone knows ?
I'm surprised the IIDTool is so poor about test of a lot of devices, like the dashboard lights that can be tested with the iCarsoft LR. Did I miss something in the menus ?

Can’t you just cover the front facing sensor up in the rear of the mirror.
Wait a few
Seconds with ignition on

The IID is streets ahead in its functionality. What exactly do you need to test in the mirror

Hi ! I just want to check if my mirror is working properly. There is no document that shows how it works.
- Do the headlamps need to be on ?
- Must it be dark outside ?
- Must be driving ? (I know it's deactivated in Reverse)
- Do the side mirrors are also shading ?
Other tool (Thinkdiag 2) is able to activate the shading, I didn't find the same on IIDTool.
IIDTool seems to be seriously missing of activation functions (except the tail-gate latch) but, as already said, I might ignore some well hidden menus.

The RVM has a forward facing sensor and a rear facing sensor.
If the rear facing sensor is brighter (e.g. caused by headlights behind) than the front facing sensor it will dim it down. Allow approx. 30 seconds to fully dim.
The easy way is to completely cover the front facing sensor with your finger ensuring no light enters.
Other methods are to put a torch on the rear facing sensor.
You need the ignition on. And as you say, not in reverse and also wise to ensure the interior lights are off.
Where dimming door mirrors are fitted, they will follow the centre mirror

Thanks a lot, Pete!
I tried it as you explain and the mirror slowly becomes shaded. But not so much and not fast enough, that's what surprises me... Also, the side mirrors don't seem to tint  .

Landrover Door mirrors are large and therefore expensive to be dimmable.
