I was toying with the advise i was given today that was to get them repaired rather than replace them with 2nd hand units from a car that was being broken for parts,
Does anyone know what the costs would be to get them repaired and how many hours its booked at for changing all 6 injectors ?

I'd like to ask DiscoMikey, on a scale of 1-10 how tricky would you say this job was ? what bits would you replace for new whilst doing this job ? clips etc ?

I'm looking at taking out injectors for a clean-up.
On a TDCi engine I took the injector electrical connectors off, undid the retaining bolts a couple of turns and turned the engine over on the starter for a second or two.
The cylinder pressure shifted the injectors sufficiently to easily lift them out without any undue effort.
Any reason I shouldn't do the same with the D3?Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto

Interesting method.
I guess you need to be careful with the metal fuel pipes? Either strain them or have fuel everywhere?
Not sure its required on the TDV6 though.
Once all connections are off, I just found you needed to twist and pull.
The tricky part is not loosing the leak off clip

Only needed a mil or 2 movement to free them and the TDCi easily had enough flex even with the metal pipes. Haven't looked at the TDV6 layout yet though. Also, once the very first movement occurs the pressure from the cylinder is lost so it probably won't induce that much stress on the pipes.
Be interesting to hear thoughts/experiences though.Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto

Only ever had 1 injector it come out, though the copper seal had been leaking...
I tried cranking the engine with longer bolts to stop it coming out. Didn’t work
Tried running the engine. Didn’t work
Tried to rev it gently. Didn’t work
Revved it harder. Still didn’t work
Put it in gear, half on brakes and gently increased engine speed. Nothing
Ran out of time, didn’t have a chance to get it out. Not bad though, 1 and only injector from several hundred My D3 Build Thread

Huge difference
Went from being VERY lumpy on 1st start up of the day, and these readings:

After idling for 10 mins or so, it still idles much, much better than before, but with injector comps of:
The engine management does take around 30 miles or so to adapt, so will run them for a bit and see if it improves

Been attempting to remove, or even get close to removing injector 3 (or middle of bank A whatever no that is) but I can’t seem to get the injector loom out of the way enough to get in to do them. I’ve disconnected the fuel lines and coolant hose but the fuel lines are so rigid that they don’t want to shift much (and I don’t want to force them). Is there a knack to this?
Might give it one more shot then give in and take it in.

the loom should pull off them. and then move out the way.
need to unplug all 3
I think you loosen the ridged fuel line at both ends.

Any clues as to how to remove this plastic harness cover from the bulkhead so I can get to the back injector?
Sorted it

Hi getting a "new" engine in my D4 MY2011. The engine new used engine is said to be a MY2015.
Is it advisable to move the injectors over from the seized engine?
Are the injectors coded?
Or should I just use the new engine as it is?
Maybe there are other thing to move over?
Advice please.

I’d be tempted to leave it as it comes, great believer in not changing it if it’s not broken.2 D3 ‘s’ ambulance conversions and 2 D3 ‘SE’ for home (His and Hers)
