If it's this blue, I like it but SWMBO doesn't! Still she describes the other bright blue (a la MrH's) as Midlife Crisis Blue!!!

Stick,

I have amended my order (you commented on) to the Factory Fit Tow Pack from the dealer fit multi-height tow bar. Reason was more options for multi-bike carriers. Looking at other threads the Atera Strada, and MaxxRaxx are common choices.

I queried roofbox about compatibility for both and they replied "The Atera Strada attaches by clasping onto the head of the tow ball, therefore it will attach onto almost any domestic towball design specifications. The MaxxRaxx can only attach onto "bolt-on" tow balls because it attaches via a spacer plate."

My preference is the Atera which is not cheap but may be easier to fit. The roofbox site have a video of fitting.

Finally I'm also 6'2" and would not be keen lifting 30lb of mtb onto a disco roof. Maybe just going soft in my middle age!

i posed a similar question a while back and the concensus seemed to be best place for the bike but a bit tricky.

i have specced the SS bumper tread trim but am still unsuer if the bumper is designed as a step to reach the roof.???

i did end up geting a back mounted one as a stop gap until the D4 arrives so i will try this high up on the top part of the tail gate as the roof if a fair lift and drop when you knackered after a 20 mile ride!

failing that it'll be a tow bar jobbi Thumbs Up

love this forum

read mike's post and started looking at my spec of tow bar, and thinking of spending £300 on rear mounted. Then read Russell's - clearly eat more shredded wheat in Kent. Any tips for getting the bikes up there?

Drop to access hieght and use the caravan step to give the little extra height, it can be done without the step but it is harder. I actually find it harder putting on the bars and bike rack. I tend to leave these as one unit as it takes a long time otherwise to get them all in place and lined up. Thumbs Up

This is what I use, I have one between the towball and the bracket http://www.pendle-bike.co.uk/shopping/Behi...e-Rack.php Good strong gear

I tow the caravan with the bikes on the rack.
