Just wait til you're stopped at roadwork traffic lights in the dark evenings with your headlights on and your mind wondering just how long it would take to drain the battery.
Happened to me tonight and I chickened out and fired the engine back up. ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Ron, I thought the car was supposed to sense when the battery was getting low and automatically re-start the engine Cheers Ian

Yes it does, it's just the thoughts running through the mind.
Was a bit odd the first time mine kicked in unexpectedly during a hot day when I was stopped.
I wondered what was happening then realised it was the aircon that was taking its toll on the battery, so it fired up the engine. ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

The battery will power the headlights for ages with no problem. Two 35W HIDs and a few other lights: maybe 120W = 10A. That's 10Ah per hour (!) with the battery being (at a guess) more than 80Ah. You could safely leave the headlights on for well over two hours.
The aircon isn't "taking its toll on the battery". The compressor is powered by the engine, and there's only a small amount of "residual cold" (sorry, physics teachers!) available. Once that's gone and the car detects the cabin's going to start warming up, it'll turn the engine back on to generate more cold.
Well, that's me well and truly told. ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧
