Tailgate Struts

Does anybody know what pressure the tailgate struts are charged to . A friend of mine has sourced new struts privately , but needs to get them charged to the correct pressure

we use struts like this at work all the time
and
when we fit new ones its usually a case of suck it and see
because the come fully charged and as hard as f''ck
so we let the gas out little by little at the grub screw until the struts offer what seems the right amount of resistance
asfaik there is no way to measure the gas pressure inside, perhaps the pressure exerted outside, but the suck it and see method has done us no harm
BTW dont let out too much gas as if that happens, then its FUBAR

Also appears 9/10 of stopping is stopping in time

Kinda like smoke out of an electronic device - once it's out you can't put it back in
