Tailgate Cover Bolts
Hi all,
Mine are pretty rusty and I just figured I'd take them out to see what size they were. Of the four bolts, 1 is missing entirely and one comes out without much fuss. The other 2 bolts just spin round and never come out. Any tips? I'm assuming some captive nut has died inside, and just needs replacing.
If anyone knows a source of replacement bolts, I'd appreciate it too.

M8x20mm, will run off the sides to taper them using the drill press and a file. Will report back if they're correct or not!

It's these ones, the Torx bolts.
The LR ones have a taper towards the end.[/img]

Yes, then captive nut on the inside, use a trim removal tool to put pressure under the screw head and try and lever and turn out, some araldite or superglue on the inside once you get the little darlings out.I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

thanks for the tips - will definitely clean the thread, I've got a tap and die set, and I'll bung some copper grease in too for good measure.
