Sounds like a failed height sensor, or damaged wiring. Either way it seems like your car thinks it is being grounded when going down in access mode. Don't think height sensors are particularly expensive.

When I first got mine it did this, but after cycling through access - normal - off-road height and back again a few times, it cleared up. Think it was just that the previous owner hadn't used it much and it had seized up. Not had a problem for ages now, so maybe worth a try... Won't cost anything!

Happened to mine. probably a blocked dryer. The air cannot vent properly as it vents through the dryer.
Change it or take it out and dry out the desicant.

The dryer is part of the compressor it can be removed and replaced separately. There are instructions on here somewhere for removing the compressor.
Undo the top of the dryer. remove the top, remove the top filter, empty the beads into a sieve to remove the fine particles. Stick them in the microwave till they change colour,
Remove the bottom filter and clean and dry before putting it back together.
Worked for me. Thumbs Up

Mine was playing that game last week.......followed by snail-paced height changes with the warning "suspension raising slowly"....thanks for that Rolling Eyes
just set off 20 minutes ago and it showed an amber warning, followed by red warning with the message "suspension fault, maximum speed 30mph"....pulled in,switched off the engine, restarted and all fault appeared to have disappeared......now I'm completley confused Confused

Mine did it on and off for a week or so before I fixed it.

I was having lots of fun and games with my suspension recently.

http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic70011.html

Although stripping the compressor down and drying the drier out has obviously helped as the system isn’t choked up any more, the latest bout of warnings has been solved by the usual new relay and rear bulbs trick.
