Would love to take part but don't have things such as VIN to hand when Forum wading. FYI 130,000 miles both rear upper arms replaced and it has done some serious off road work, including dragging trees in low1 for miles ,because the CAT telehandler broke

Re: suspension problem solved thanks to this forum!

Hi guys,
thanks to all these posts i managed to solve my suspension problem without any cost at all. the problem was overnight lowering of the front suspension and after a few days the whole car looked sad and was completely at the bump stops of the suspension in its lowest position.
first of all i diagnosed the problem by removing fuse 26 and hence determining if the drop was due to a signal fault of one of the height sensors and the self leveling feature. when removing the fuse the car still dropped at the front side overnight but only at the front side. it was clear to me there was something wrong with the front valve block since the problem started to show when i first used the height adjustment lever after buying the car secondhand. i don't think the previous owner ever used the feature since it was a typical city cruiser...
this is what worked for me:
removing the front right wheel and inner fender
opening the valve block mounted to the front bumper backside without disconnecting the air lines
carefully cleaning the air valves o-rings and assembling them again with some vaseline grease
on upper valve you can see the white traces - deposits of air continuously being purged through the valve
one of the disassembled valves
hope this will help other people hesitating to fix the problem
its an easy job after all and took me only 2hrs max.
regards,
Tom

d3 will not raise or lower
I bought a D3 off my brother. He had a new air compressor fitted approx 12 months ago.
I have tried to raise / lower the suspension but nothing happens. To faults on the dash.
I've checked all fuses and relays and still nothing.
Anyone had this issue
It's a 2006 model. SE
Thanks

IID Tool Faults
Hi all
I had the normal fault of "air pressure build up too slowly" or something like that cant remember now as iv cleared the fault. I went on ebay and bought a second hand compressor "my old one was a Hitachi and the second hand one was Dunlop and only a couple of years old" and bought a brand new relay from LR.
Got it fitted and it work perfectly for a week or so, then the old "normal height only" fault popped up, first I thought it was the second hand compressor (still could be) but when I plugged my IID tool in and got these fault it confused me (not hard)
Only other thing to say is that I cleared many faults when I first had the problem with the old compressor so this fault could have popped up with the old compressor too.
What I'm basically asking is, has anyone any idea where I should start looking for this fault.
Cheers all.....
Date is wrong on fault screen (don't know why)

suspension readings vs leak
hello to all!
Further to my issue
1) I parked the D3 on a flat area (as flat as it could be) and i removed all three fuses (namely No35 from glove compartment, No3 & No26 from engine compartment)
2) 24h after i got the following readings (in cm) from center of wheel to bottom of arch, FR:46.2, RR:47, FL:46.5 & RL:45.8
3) 48h after i got the following FR:46.2, RR:46, FL:45 & RL:42,5
4) immediately after the 48h readings, i replace the fuses, start the car, compressor runs for a couple of minutes, they i put the D3 in extended suspension mode and i get FR:50, RR:53, FL:51,7, RL:53,6
5) then i put car in normal suspension mode and get FR:46.2, RR:48, FL:47.1 & RL:48
Could i have PLEASE 8) 8) 8) your valuable advise/experience????? what's next??? anyone could tell where is the leak or i havent done the whole thing right??
much appreciated

Get the eBay kit of rubbers and revamp all 3 valves that costs about 15 quid .
check compressor lid new one plus o rings is about 40quid exhurst valve and silica
Then air resovouir that runs under passenger seat under the car if it's rusty at front end its probly leaking .
Leak detector spray from screwfix is about 5 quid
Mine dropped 80mm all round
Revamped air compressor
Changed air resovouir
Did front valve other 2 to Do
And
No drop at front and only 25 mm at back now
