You could also disconnect the ecu and then check the 5v at pressure sensor. . If it’s still 12v the wire has shorted some where.

Otherwise it’s the ecu

Great idea. I'll test this.

Hi matchermike

Hope I’m not sticking my nose in as I know the guys here are extremely knowledgeable and can guide u better than myself

But was wondering if these links may be of any use to u

Not at all thanks for the links. I'm slightly nervous i've bitten off a little bit more than i can chew, but i love the car so really want to get this sorted. I'll try anything and everything anyone can suggest to resolve.

MatcherMike, you only get voltage at fuse 3E when the relay operates, so if relay is not operating then no volts. Have you tried swapping the relay as they are known to fail Embarassed

Thanks for the suggestion. I've swapped the relay and tested the socket. The ECU isn't sending voltage to throw the relay.

Will check my voltage on front height sensors and pressure sensor once the ecu is disconnected.

Thanks
Mike

Hi mike

Glad it’s of some use, know it can feel like ur tearing ur hair out sometimes , god knows I’ve been there when I had a battery drain

The kind Pete k along with Robbie and many others helped me all the way through the system and finally found the issue ( I had retrofitted front electric seat , memory ecu was the error , removed the seats wiring and ecu , , made a new loom and new non memory switch pack, sorted )

My battery from fully charged will last just under 3 x weeks

Good luck mike and maybe it doesn’t feel like it now but with the great knowledge pete has and working through the system step by step ur get there Thumbs Up

Gary

2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 S Manual Java BlackDiscovery 3

Hi All,

Hope you had a great Christmas. I've been back on the car today and made some breakthrough progress Very Happy

Traced all wires through arch connecters and back to ECU connectors and all ok. Couldn't find any issues with continuity, and nothing seemed to be badly earthed or touching live. I ordered a 2nd hand ecu before xmas so i pulled plugs down from old ecu under dash and plugged it in temporarily.

Voltages all tested correct at the height sensors and pressure sensor. Plugged them all in now and the compressor runs Very Happy IID shows me height readings from all sensors so appears to be good. No longer have all lights and HDC warnings on dash either. Just the suspension light and max 30mph warning. Suspect this is due to it needing recalibration.

Too scared to let it run for long as i don't know if height is set ok etc. I'm always wary something might pop!

Next step i think is to put ECU in properly (need to work out how to get trim away so i can get to the old one. Then wheels on and drop it down to setup suspension. Any quick tips on this? i'll have a search through here though.

If all good, disks and pads to do all round, and trim all back on.

Thanks for your help and support.
