Collected the J-Rods this morning and fitted to the D3. Took about 15 minutes but I am sure it will go faster next time around.
SWAMBO's reaction "... it looks like a monster truck!",
I will be in Pretoria and JHB on the 7th and 8th of September. It should be possible to deliver most of the sets then.

Hi
I live in the east of Pretoria, so I can collect from Nico, also my dad's set (Frans@Yamorna) can be left with Nico (if it's OK Nico?).
Alternatively, my office is close to the OR Thambo, but to eliminate excess travel for you I will collect from Nico. 2007 TDV6 SE auto (ex Write off)

I already have RR on permanently so my access is limited - roof parking bays etc... No garage sleeping
But I will keep them in for a while to test stability, fuel comp etc..
Tiaan have you received the spare BFG KM2 ? does it fit ?

Initially plan to only fit for off road trails or for trips to Botswana, Namib and Moz. My rods will be removed this weekend as the D3 is scheduled for its service next week Wednesday. I plan to have the wheel alignment measured with standard rods fitted and with J-Rods fitted to see if their is a difference. Permanent fitting will depend on the results.

Parked the J-rods fitted D3 next to a D4 today and challenged the owner (who is a friend) to raise his car the same height as mine. He immediately bought the last set of J-rods available

I’m currently running a set of -5mm rods for the last 5 months, but I’m also contemplating fitting the -10mm set on a permanent basis...
Nico – not yet, spoke to them last week and i hope to have the spare before end Sep. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STt7DmJeeVc

I'll give you a call to arrange collection & payment. Hopefully I'm picking up my machine this afternoon or tomorrow
I have not studied the installation procedure or position; do the rods have an impact on suspension quality/comfort? "I had 'ride' instead of 'suspension' in the previous sentence; the latter sounded better ''

I run -5mm sensor rods and a small calibration-based height increase.
The handling is definitely affected and there is a fair bit more body roll. The suspension also feels much more "floaty" and is generally not as nice as it is when running standard rods and heights.
On motorways and when off-road (i.e. away from faster, twisty roads) though it's generally fine
This may be caused by my D3 being 4 years old and the effect may be less on a newer D3 with less "abused" shock absorbers etc..... 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

Solar, I am at Head Office in Sandton next week Wednesday so you are welcome to collect the Rods there. Or I can drop it off at your offices on the way back to Pretoria.
