Need advise guys
Got the amber light up , left, right warning light on
Suspension warning message and suspension raising slowly light message on
I’ve run it through off road , normal and access
When in off road I have a loud hiss from NSF air strut but not when in normal or access height
Compressor is running longer than normal was replaced 15 k ago so should be ok
I guess it’s a leak from the NSF air strut
Are they easy to Change on the drive ?
Can it be isolated from the system while it’s being changed ?
We have recently spent enough on it as we where at the swap or keep stage as we have had it 5 yrs
So I had the suspension bushes upper lower and all that done 4 new tyres and another gear box flush for maintenance purposes
I’m not putting it back in the indies for more pocket diggin, if this is big job it’s gone
Any thoughts please I’ve read many post on suspension issues
Cheers
Phil

Hiya
Know this members has some second hand ones for sale if u don’t wish to fit new
They are easy to replace , also had that issue where one strut would only leak when in off road height , ie, as the rubber was more exposed out of the metal surround
if u haven’t got an iid to deflate the system , gain access to the front valve block behind the drivers side wheel arch liner, can release the air from the valve block by undoing the nuts slowly to each strut
First I would raise suspension to off road height , pull fuse F 26 then leave overnight or a good few hours to see where it drops and to conform if that corner is leaking , might just be the top strut airline connector,
Bubble test all around the strut and top connector
Hope that helps

Thanks fella
Definitely the NSF strut I can hear and feel the draft it’s that bad
If it was the air line or valve at the top of the strut I would assume it it would leak all the time
As it really out in off road height and stops when I lower to normal height I’m thinking it’s compressing the bag when lower therefore closing the leak somewhat
Am I right in thinking both left and right struts are the same just different on the rears
I’m calling my local garage that looks after my work van for a quote as I reckon it’s an hours labour for a mech plus the strut
I can get a strut for about £160 plus my time and all the Argo that comes with letting air out and not torque wrench only does about 200 ft
Thanks again
Phil

Hi phil
Ur very welcome and glad it helped , indeed ref the top air line
That’s a good price for a new strut , I got Dunlop’s , yes fronts are the same each side and ur right with the rears being different than the front
Mine didn’t come with new top nuts so bought some stainless steel nyloc ones along with a brass pushfit to replace the voss connector , found it easier to install
Did have to buy a new torque wrench for the bottom bolt , think it was around 300nm, also a deep socket for the other side of the bolt
Think it took me around 4 x hours as someone in the past had rounded off the top nuts so they were a sod to get out , plus getting the other torque wrench etc added to the time
Made a massive difference with ride quality as they were the originals , did fit new meyle heavy duty drop links at the same time , treated the areas with Dinitrol as well whilst the old strut was out
Fingers crossed won’t be an eye watering quote , with all the gear imagine 1-2 hours
Plse let us know how things go
As a side note, did check my struts when I removed them, that near side indeed was seriously leaking but only at off road height
Got it booked in looking at 230 for pound notes no bill if you know what I mean
Happy with that
Not worth my time Better spent on the bank match fishing
