Suspension Fault and Temperature |
|
okay .. not sure if this has been discussed before ...
but yesterday in Sydney, my D3 was saying it was 43 degrees C on the dash.
next thing - Suspension fault.
lucky i was only 5 mins away from the service centre.
they logged into the computer and stated that the compressor had reached 40 degrees C and it shut off. so it actually wasn't a fault, just the compressor was too hot.
so i wonder, how do the D3's go in the desert ?
or maybe they have the compressor enclosed in a fridge
maybe I should've bought the S model - or perhaps kept my DII with ACE & SLS. I've seen my LR service centre more times in the past 6 months, than the past 5 years I've had a LR. 2009 Discovery 4 3.0 TDV6 HSE
1985 LR 110 County 3.5 V8
(what options?!)

bashir, that is one of the reasons I was concerned about one of the guys, penguin who plans to visit the desert.

Bashir, the specification for the compressor temperature limits are 140 for filling reservoir (150 for lifting) at compressor head and 120 for filling reservoir / 140 for lifting at compressor brush. All in degrees Celsius

so what the service centre said was incorrect ?
unless i misheard him saying 40 deg C instead of 140 deg C ?
I'm sure my wiring would've melted by then .....
well i had the suspension fault alert come up again yesterday.
spoke to the service centre last night and they said there is updated software to correct this (as after switching off and back on, the alert hasn't reappeared. plus it was only 23 deg C on the dash)
my first service is due shortly so I will be getting that update (plus a new memory seat module) ... the list just keeps growing ... 2009 Discovery 4 3.0 TDV6 HSE
