Suspension fault - Special programs off - SOLVED! |
|
Hello,
Maybe 3 months ago i got my fist bing-bong, suspension fault - normal height only message. Message go away if I restarted car but i was not able to use access or offroad mode. Few seconds after using the switch - suspension fault normal height only. Noticed that rear end tried to rise before the error.
Front drops to bumpa stops during the night. I cleaned front valve block and that helps. No drop anymore but still error occured.
Few days ago when I started my car, the error was different. No normal height only. Just a suspension fault and special programs off. Noticed that the compressor runs only 10 senconds before the error. Compressor was very load. I removed the cover and noticed that compressor bracket was cracked. I removed and opened the compreasor. The desiccant looked just fine. And every other parts looks ok. There wasnt any cracks on the dryer cover. I reassembled the compressor but still suspension fault.
I've checked fuses, battery, break bulbs, soapy water, cant find any leaks etc..
Can anyone please help me and give me some tips what to check next?

Do you have access to a fault code reader like IID? If not, I think you are trying to diagnose a rather complex problem with only the dashboard messages which won’t tell you much.
If you happen to be in the Helsinki metro area I can use my IID to read the codes if you want.
Please update your profile to reflect the model you have

Cleaned cross link valve and no change.
Found a corroded wire behind the front wheel arch. Fixed but no change.
Codes:
C1A20 - Pressure increases too slow when filling reservoir
U0421 - Invalid data received from ride level control module.
Next I will check reservoir condition.

Double checked the compressor. Noticed that the counter weight 'crank'? where the con rod and piston is attached was broke off to the motor unit. I believe that this part shouldn't be removable and there's no spare parts in the market.
That was the reason why the compressor was so loud and nothing happened. I've ordered a new compressor from island 4x4.

What relay did you replace? |
|
Are we talking about the relay in the bonnet fuse box?
Also is there a routine or procedure posted on here for checking the voltage to the compressor and to the reserviour valve block? 2005 Land Rover D3, 4.4L V8, Maya Gold Metallic
