Suspension Fault after Replacing Tailgate Switch

I'm hoping somebody can help me with a problem that I'm having with my suspension.
Recently, the tailgate switch decided to pack up and after reading a few threads on here and looking on YouTube I went down the route of pressing both 'Lock & Unlock' buttons at the same time which is supposed to trigger the tailgate lock and to be fair, it worked. I was able to open the tailgate and have now replaced the switch with the one from a Range Rover Sport rather than replacing the whole switch and light assembly. The switch is a genuine Land Rover rather than aftermarket.
Since I've done this, the suspension is showing up as having a fault that is stopping the compressor from working and when we have plugged it into the Autologic diagnostic unit it comes up with a couple of fault codes, one suggesting that the Suspension Control Module is faulty and the other suggesting that there is a fault with the Suspension Height Switch in the centre console.
We have tried numerous things, including another Suspension ECU and are no further forward.
Has anybody else ever had this problem or has anybody got any ideas as to what it might be? Could the simultaneous pressing of the switches on the dash caused something to go haywire?

unrelated I would say

try another Suspension Height Switch console

or open it up and give it a careful clean (like you would clean the inside of a tv remote control)

Thanks Pete
We have already tried a different switch which we swapped from a vehicle that we know the suspension is working on and still no joy!
