New switch arrived. bbyer instructions are excellent - literally a 10 minute job, including removing the panels. But, someone had been there before me; the switch I found was the FeMoCo (whatever) non-OEM. I swapped it out anyway, but the problem did not get fixed. IN ADDITION I now have the Adaptive Front Light System flashing amber. I put the old switch back in to de-bug, and the AFLS light still flashes.
Brake lights OK (x3). Reversing Lights OK (x2).
What next? bbyers circuit diagram implies that it could Hill Descent relay or ABS module. And TRANSFER CONTROL BOX is listed on the same diagram - but I cant see how it's connected. http://www.disco3.co.uk/gallery/displayima...&pos=8
Is it likely that one of the actual lights is telling the truth, and that the Hill Descent, DCS, or Suspension modules are busted?

Try and find some forum member near you that has d4 rear lights they might be kind enough to swap the rear lights over for an hour to eliminate them. I changed mine and it's run fine since.
FeMoCo
Could it be an old Ford part FoMoCo Ford Motor comanyIn Spain - 2018 F Pace - Down and out's Velar

I would assume that fitting LED's to the rear lamps might help this problem with the brake light switch, the inrush current of a bulb is high enough to damage the switch contacts. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Down and out's Velar

@sean471 - I like your suggestion and I have no doubt your fix worked, but it seems crazy - the light unit can only be an entirely passive bunch of plastic and wire. But given your car works and mine doesn't you win on the result!
...here's a thing. I have another common problem - water ingress form suspected sunroof drainage... I have been unable to fix for a year, and generally ignored it (my bad) maybe now it's having a secondary effect.

Hi I took out the battery and found this do you think this could be the problem or the ACU behind this. This fault is not constant are there any other sensors I could check ?

It is possible for a brake bulb to fail, the filament collapse yet the bulb will still illuminate. The problem with this scenario is the car senses the change and throws a wobbly via the suspension and HDC warnings.
For this reason you must change the bulbs even if they appear to still work, at the same time you change the brake switch. Mods:

Water ingress has often been known to cause a corroded Transfer Box ECU so that could be your problem.

Just a thought, a quick thought, but do your warning lamp symptoms come up on the instrument pack with the brake pedal depressed, or do they tend to do it more when the pedal is not depressed, and you are just pulling away from rest at low speed?
If you have any access to a diagnostic tool with live data, look at the value in the SASM (steering angle sensor module) when the wheels are pointing straight ahead. Any deviation from 0degrees will (to varying levels of severity) bring up the symptoms you have. The fault is generally the drive dog on the steering column coming loose, and easy and cheap fix with epoxy glue and a SASM recalibration.

At last. After 7 weeks of hell. A split cable under rear passenger door rail. Apparently the factory punch cables instead of soldering them when they extend the cables. Thhis cable was completly separated from one another.
So, next time open your truck and start following the cables to find the root to your problems.
i have exactly the same problem as you had with your disco 3 - with the hdc warning light, special programs off and lowered suspension coming on when I let off the brake. When I press the brake while starting the car I have no lights, but as soon as I leave off the brake all lights ping on.
Please could you let me know what colour wire/cable was spliced and where it was so I can have a look for myself in case this is my problem.
I have changed the battery and the brake light switch so far and neither have worked!
I would be very grateful for any assistance.
