Suspension Compressor - changed but car broken! :(

Guys

MY08, 205,000 miles and getting intermittant suspension faults. AFAIK on original compressor.

Fault codes from last Thiursday:

Suspension

• C1A38-01 (6C) Rear cross-link valve - General failure information - general electrical failure
( at 328734 km )

• C1A13-64 (2E) Pressure does not decrease when venting gallery - Algorithm based failure - signal plausibility failure
( at 328734 km )

Decided to swap compressor as driving to Liverpool early Mon AM. AMK ordered from AF and fitted in about an hour - straightforward. Changed the relay, updated the car with the IID.

On initial test compressor lifted front of car. Rear remained high. I used IID tool to deflate rear bags (had already deflated reservoir to fit compressor) and then car will not re-fill. Sat on bump stops.

Now I get:

• C1A00-53 (AF) Control module - System programming failure - deactivated
( at 331868 km )

• C1A00-54 (AF) Control module - System programming failure - missing calibration
( at 331868 km )

With a red suspension light and special programmes off Sad

Any suggestions? (thought I was so clever to that point)

Cheers

Almost looks like the change in software has not taken. But someone more knowledgable than me would be better placed to advise.

A fault with the rear valve block and/or wiring can cause an RLM programming fault as you have Thumbs Up

Had a simpler fault Like this, fixed by ending EAS mode, then went straight up

Mikey, is that corroded wiring near the compressor. I was not sure from photo. If so, then replacing compressor could disturb wires and break the connection? The reason I am asking is that at nearly 180k miles I am expecting air suspension woes again at some point. And the more I worry about it the less likely it is to happen Laughing

Cheers guys (especially DM).

Will have a look at the wires tomorrow. If its a case of swapping the rear valve block then I will have to get the garage to do it and grab a courtesy car/hire car. I'm away on a course next week.

I could about bodge up the wires if needed.

Will update

Diagnostic function of the control module when I deflated my airbags just to see what it looked like, left it over night and in the morning would not raise and had red light on and same error code went in end EAS mode and all came back to life and filled the bags.

The plot thickens. Started car and still no suspension, red light on.

Ended EAS. Stopped car. Cleared faults. Suspension started rising.

Done a 15 mile journey and all was fine.

I will see how she goes - may have a look at the wiring in the wheel arch when I get chance.

Thanks to all

I think what jamieroxy means is Enable EAS, I've seen this when a compressor was removed/replaced, nothing worked afterwards. Once EAS renabled everything was fine. Similar symptoms red light on.

How to enable EAS, I have similar issue with red light on and can't clear the C1A00-54 control module code, it says permanent.

I was in the process of calibration and the red warning light came on!!
