suspension arms
hi all what do you most do renew the bushes or new arms for front and rear both.
if you scrap the old arms is it because there knacker or not ???

Easier to change the full arm plus you get the ball joint on the fronts, also quite often the rear most bush on the front lowers seizes and the bolt has to be cut, something similar with rear uppers, just change the full arm IMO

It does seem ridiculously wasteful but trust me once you have wrestled the old one off you're very glad you have a whole new part to fit, particularly if you had to cut the old one off of course.
I actually got lucky and managed to chisel out the old bolts without cutting the arms. Hence what you could consider doing is buying in addition to the 2 new arms, 2 poly bushes for the rear lower arm bush. This way if you get the old arms off easily you could actually cut out the old rear bush (one that has probably failed) and hammer in the poly bush without needing a press and re-fit. There is one video on youtube for a RRS where they seem to do just this.

When I changed the arms on mine, I bought new arms and bolts for it.
Front lowers and rear uppers had to be cut off the car.
