Suspension air dryer

So my normal height warning came on and the start stop light. So with winter approaching I thought it could all be electrical related. So new big battery, then new small battery - normal height light continued. Dam. Off to the specialist - need a new compressor - that’ll be 1200 euros with 1100 of that for the pump. Anyway after a bit of googling - maybe it is the air dryer? So with a mix of YouTube videos I attacked it. I did it in situe but undid the smaller hose from the front of the unit (facing the front of the car). Undid the bracket then held it by putting the top bolt into the lower bolt hole - it’s heavy. Took off the connectors and the airline to the dryer - it’s an AMK unit. Then removed the dryer. I didn’t have the repair kit - I was impatient. The top filter was dirty, the bottom clean and the granules kind of cappuccino colour. I left overnight in front of a dehumidifier, no colour change, blasted a few times in the microwave and finally 1hr 15 in the oven at 150 degrees. Still the same colour. So left to cool, a bit of silicone spray on the rubbers, put the dirty filter in the bottom and the clean at the top and reassembled. After a 20 minute drive no warnings and was able to raise and lower it.. not bad. Let’s see how it goes over the next week and maybe I have to buy the refresh kit - fingers crossed Smile

Australia

People don't realise just how much water is in the air. I am only pumping up tyres, not a car every time I start it, & this is the water in the air on a Sydney humid day after one tyre in my moisture trap.

So I bought the new dryer kit - refit... no difference Sad

So it looks like a new compressor - do I get the relay also or just the compressor?
