James I do have a sense of humor,  but afraid saw what you wrote and saw red,  it is very hard to get in and out of D3 in normal space,  convoy For Heroes record holder (348)

My God, if parallel parking had been in my test 20 years ago I would still be on a provisional license! I am so rubbish at parking!

I used to Park in Disabled Bays, Being lazy really...................untill I got a ticket from the supermarket of £75, and now 90% have these schemes in place, so be careful.
Today I went to Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth. Really quiet, but did'nt use their car park, used the Pay n Display street parking, got into the bay and ALL tyres were touching the lines  , got back to the D3 where a old Freelander had squeezed next to it, no passenger thankfully so no door bashing. The Freelander owner was nice enough though, Knew I would have a prob getting in, so reversed a tad to let a fat  in his D3
