Apologies for changing the direction of this thread slightly.
But having had my car Supaguarded (for free) by the dealer when I bought it and now having a few scratches that need attention, what would my best course of action be?
Open to your suggestions.

Did your dealer give you the owners kit?
It contains amongt other things a polish so that you can redo the supagard treatment on any bits you might have to polish due to scratches etc. 1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold

The dealer did give me the kit, which I've not opened yet!
I was thinking maybe I should go down another route as the feeling seems to be generally pretty negative about Supagard.

I think that Supagard is good but too costly however all the paint protection schemes are around the same price.
If I hadn't got mine done free (or for no more than £60) I would have just done it myself as you can buy the Supagard polish of ebay for about £10 and the kit for about £25. I bought 2 of the initial treatment packs of ebay for £10 last year so that I could do another car. 1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold

to the kings invisible clothes (those of you that are old like me will recall the Danny Kaye song)
I have only had one vehicle with this treatment...it wasn't any shinier & did need washing just as much.
If you apply good quality polishes yourself & look after them (wash with no detergents) they are just as good
Most important thing to consider Supergard doesn't make the resale value any greater...so what's the point BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.

D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

I seem to remember reading on here about a product that is supposed to protect your paintwork, protection for three years Could anyone remind me what it was please I can't find the thread. I'm not as good as I once was........but I'm as good once as I ever was.

The Auto Glym Life Shine is very good
Had it done on mine (for far less than dealer prices) and the damn thing is still pretty clean after many months of no washing. The rain washes most of the dirt, bird poo and such off for you
Even the wheel treatment works very well... it gets all the black brake stuff all over it, then it rains and its mostly gone

Just to throw in my two cents.
Dealer did our Disco (black) as part of the deal (1 year old 07 plate), well I told them 5 times we were not interested and they kept wanting to throw it in, so they are clearly on commission to sell these treatments! I think he listed in (not to our cost I might add!) about £200 on the invoice.
Its the first car I have had with the treatment and from initial view, its no better than doing it yourself. the bonnet had a lot of swirling already (car wash in past life maybe ) and none of this was cured by the treatment, in fact I guess its just sealed it under a layer of stuff I need to polish through now to fix the swirling
The rain, of which there was a lot on the M25 yesterday, does just roll of nicely, but I get the same affect on my 3 year old Alfa which gets 3-4 good polishes a year with Autoglym.
My vote would be if they are not throwing it in, don't bother, as others have said.
They also seem to have downgraded the pack you get, all we got was a small plastic folded box in the passenger door with cloth, leather and wash in it.
If you have the money to spend, much better off getting a professional valet in

Right the facts about this treatment
It works if you play by the rules simple however no amount of this stuff protects from scratches it stops swirl marks etc from normal washing
Use a Polish car wash boy say good bye to the treatment
However start with its a sealant you seal the in end of story
Use any Polish (correct term) you destroy the sealant
Use Wax then it helps
Note for what ever reason AG call a wax a polish and vise versa
