It was in that mode to get out of trouble ISTR...it would auto drop back down once a certain speed is attained.

It drops back down when you reach about 5 mph. You wouldn't want to drive it for long in super extended its very hard and uncomfortable.
When you are off roading and bottom out the car lifts automatically at this point you will hear a bing and the option to lift further will become available as described. If you do lift it be careful as the front CVs could fail if the vehicle is fully raised and you are on full lock.
In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

So do these shiny new defenders have all the same tricks in the code too?

There used to be a video on YouTube of someone popping a CV joint like that, at an LRE centre I think.

So I raised it to off-road mode, put a bottle Jack under, lowered to normal mode.

It raised up about 4” and the button was flashing. I then had my foot on the brake, and belt the raider switch and it beeped but this is the highest it seemed to go.

I’ll try again tomorrow maybe I did it wrong?

And yeah I understand the driving isn’t ideal in SEM. And thanks for the turning advice!

Literally just want to get a few pics, show it off now and then. Also underside work would help! Raise it fully as I’m getting fat now haha

I'm sure I don't need to say this to anyone on here, but for anyone finding this thread in the future don't EVER let anyone go under a car when the suspension is raised. It's a handy trick for lifting it but put suitably rated axle stands under the chassis before you ever get under it.

Only takes an air pipe or connector, or wiring to fail.

I was going to say in brackets I do have 2x 2 tonne stands.

Come to think of it, years ago I had a wind up Jack SNAP while I was under the car!!!!!

Thank god the wheels were on and I was lucky. I was doing exhaust repair I think.
