YES - too much oil is almost as bad as not enough
Ummm - go back to the dealer, or at least photograph the oil level on the dipstick and write to them to cover you if anything plays up later, and rectify the oil level as soon as you can !!!Never get mad - get even !!

The dip stick on the D3 is useless.
I have never been able to get a reading from it as oil seems to find it way up the carrier tube.

Dealer did this to mine along time ago. No lasting damage. Get them to drain some out.“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Trackman,I agree on the dipstick being difficult to read, but I took the reading after the car was standing overnight,so the oil in the tube should have drained out.I have taken a foto of the dipstick level and will pass it on to the dealer.

Noticed mine was above the mark not long after purchace, given the dire warnings about over filling, I called the LR assist, who said not to drive it we'll be right out.
They dropped some oil, and told me to book it in to a dealer to check the Fuel hearer / cooler, whatever it is wasn't leaking, as apparently fuel can find it's way in to the sump ( NOT the FBH )
Dealer checked unit, and changed oil and filters as a good will gesture, as they had overfilled in the first place.
