As a dealer Charles Hursts are very professional, compared to a few of the others I have had to deal with (due to being in that locallity. They are one of the big two in northern Ireland & represent a lot of makes (including Chrysler/JEEP + a lot of prestige makes.
They arent part of a group, they are a "group sized" operation for N. Ireland. My las three Discos have been bought there & I can only say the deals have been the best with all the trimmings. I dont think they will be doing anything dodgy.

I wrote to the forum to validate that Charles Hurst (one of many Land Rover Dealers - but the main one in Northern Ireland), in my humble (yet experienced opinion - I have bought a number of cars there) aren't doing anything "dodgy" - but as described by Bogblaster & yourself. Just to confirm what my card actually entitled me to (I have one).

Car insurance in Northern Ireland is much the same as here, excepting that if you insure with specific insurers you don't have to show or send your insurance cert or cover note to get your car taxed - done on line. What I have found is though when processing a claim the insurers want to you to use their own favored body shops organised by the assessors (who are totally partial ).

On asking CH Land Rover service manager (today) he explained that it works on no fault accidents (i.e. its someone else's doing - definitely not "yours", they take over the claim, give you a loan vehicle & do all the rest. No worries.
What they get is the business of sorting out your car - with all the kickbacks.
I & especially "we" don't know whether this is confined to Charles Hurst - or will also be done by other land Rover dealers - so we can thank VCZ 3 for the nod.

Anything to reduce or eliminate the highway robbery aspect of car insurance which currently doesnt penalise us for having 4X4's yet - just compare or experience the insurance situation in English speaking "abroad" to see the extortionate & unjustified amounts we have to pay.[/i]
 BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.
