Strange heating system

Peculiar problem with the climate control.

Both temp setting set to 17, yet get really hot air from the drivers side vents and nice cool air on the passenger side Confused Does not happen all the time either.

Was the sun shining in on the passenger side at the time?

Sun - not had any of that round here lately - nothing but rain - even hail today!

No, in fact thinking about it, the heat output was fine until about 10 minutes into the journey. If I hadn't noticed that both heat settings were set to 17 I would of sworn it was on maximum heat Shocked

Is it not just the climate control doing what it is supposed to do, i.e. keep the car at 17° if it's too cold it's blowing some warm air in to maintain temperature.

No, dont believe so as it was slightly warmer outside (even tough it was raining) - besides that the passenger side vents were set to the same temperature and were blowing out a lot cooler air than the drivers side.

The Discovery's climate control system allows for the detection of external heat sources i.e. sun shining in through glass or other form of heat at any point, the sensors adjust the airflow accordingly. Hard to explain but when you see it working it makes sense!

one of the blender motors failing? there's four of them (five if you include the one for the external/internal air mix) and they control the vent flaps and temperature either side.

Mine does this sometimes too..! sometimes I find switching off the AC and back on again gets it blowing cold.

Update:

whilst car was in last week having a new rear camera fitted, they updated the heating system with the latest software - early days yet, but its not done it since Very Happy

@Saltydog - thats exactly what I had to do, to get the system working again.
