Strange battery behaviour

Had this experience up to today.

D4 Sdv6 struggling to turn over more and more gradually to the point it plain refused.
Battery voltage was low when standing but charge is good at 14.5v.

I unplugged the 2 usb cigarette lighter charger things and jumped started ran for 20 mins, left over night and started first push with little resistance.
Ran for an hour and she starts like new and even the folding mirrors have more vigour!

Question to you Electrical types - how is this possible? Surely the usb cigarette lighter things aren't sapping a battery without being connected to anything?
And the poor starting gradually got worse while presumably the standing charged voltage was getting gradually lower- doesn't make sense to me could there be an underlying problem with battery?

get it tested with load trster
I guess its state of cpapacity had diminished over years and misuse hence it provides less cranking power then supposed to and goes flat sooner

7 year old battery and you question what the problem is?- it’s like asking an 80 year old to give you a bump start Very Happy
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Yes I am questioning how a presumably old battery (had the car for 18months) dies quickly and has now recovered back to a healthy state. Especially due to the only change being usb cigarette chargers being removed that were not connected. Do you have an answer?

Also, interesting note. My driveway has a steep gradient, in the morning after starting I had a big lag in response from the throttle developing any revs and power. So I would put throttle down and car would creep up the slope. When car is cold.

Now after this boost and unplugging the usbs the car launches up cold no lag no delay in power.
