Spoke to service at dealers who suggests the mileage we are doing isn't enough to charge the battery , put it back on the CTEK and will see what I have after the charging sequence ends .
Its due its 3rd service and 1st mot in the new year so will take to garage before warranty ends if no luck with charging today .

Do you use your car for very few journeys with weeks/ days between use or do you use it each day for very short journeys?
I ask because if you don’t use your car very often it might be worth setting up some sort of trickle charge arrangement. I believe this can be done through the tow socket if you have one or you could set up the permanent leads that come with the ctek on the battery and earth point so you just have to connect push in the plastic fitting each time without opening the battery box. The CTEK chargers can be left permanently connected and will keep the battery topped up using trickle charge.
There’s a couple of set ups for this posted on the forum.
Cheers Gary

My MY14 needed a software update to cure the lack of stop/start.
My MY16 needed a replacement battery (under warranty luckily) to fix the same problem.
I make lots of long jouneys and do c.25k mile pa. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Took 11 hrs for CTEK to charge to step 7 (green light ) , multi meter reads 12.30 at rest and 14.7 with engine running .
Does that confirm battery not recoverable , looking at a chart it reads less than 50% charged ?
Been out this morning and stop/start worked as intended (1st time in months) , won't last though
Thanks

12.3V is low for fully charged as you say. From the voltages I have seen mentioned on here you may need to replace soon . Winter is here now so may kill it off. Gary

I replaced both batteries in my MY16 this year. Made no difference, still doesn’t work. Dealer tried robbing me off with the story that I don’t drive it enough, it’s bollucks, it just doesn’t work very well.
Not too worried mind, worked for a whole year mine before it decided that was enough!

Hi. I recently had the same sort of problem. As I have an extended warranty I took the car into Matford and they tested the batteries etc. The informed me that some sort of module for the stop/start was faulty, which they replaced under the warranty. My stop start now works providing I keep the batteries topped up once a week or so with my charger. Deno

Having recently had a new main battery (see post above), this week the small stop/start battery failed. This meant the eco orange symbol was permanently illuminated and when you pressed the eco button the warning text appeared on the screen “Eco stop/start not available”.
LRA sorted it all out, coming to my office to diagnose and then returning the next day to replace it with a new one. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE
