Have a drive around the streets of the area the scumbags are likely to have come from and also around where you live. It might well be parked up whilst they wait and see if its got a tracker fitted.
Hope you get it back.D4 HSE EU6 (Known as Jeeves)

That’s good advice Moo. A while ago a RRS was stolen from the front of our estate, it was left parked at the back for a few days before they came back for it and the. Police got them.Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Yes that’s true Dave. Hope you get it back and sorted.
Yes, all well and busy thanks. I think my D4 could drive itself there now, it’s been up and back so many times!

Still gobsmacked and fed up about this whole episode, but it has a happyish ending..
I've just bought a 2014 D4 HSE - Corris Grey from a local guy who found it a bit OTT for his needs. All the bells and whistles and possibly a bit more blingy than I would have hoped for but it seems a solid car. Insurance pay out for the 2021D4 XS almost covered the cost of the 2014 HSE (just had to dig in my pocket for £700 which seems a cheap upgrade).
One thing I really don't like are the 20" diamond cut wheels...
Now to replace all the bits and bobs I had in the old car when it was pinched - once I started totting it all up there was a lot in there. What a PITA.D1 300Tdi - gone

Glad you got a good replacement. If it has keyless entry, don’t forget your faraday pouches.
There are some good perimeter alarms around if you want something to notify you indoors of someone being outside your house ( Guardline for instance - no connection, but have some experience of them).
EnjoyGary

Well, at least that’s a bit of a result for you.
Oh, and if you want to know anything about de-blinging a MY14 Corris D4, I’m the man. ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

sounds like a good result for once and very good cost effective upgrade.
Keyless entry IMO isn't really worth the hassle however they still managed to get into and away with the OP original 2012 D4 which didn't have keyless entry, sadly you will never stop a determined scumbag2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten

Disabling keyless entry was the first thing I did. My keys are now kept in a metal box.
The new car came with a Tracker. I'll probably invest in a three year subscription to that.
Interested in de-blinging and/or some swapsies for a normal set of wheels.D1 300Tdi - gone

So this is interesting... Well it is to me anyway.
I just had a call from the Police Vehicle Crime guys in Edinburgh. There has been a spate of thefts of Land Rovers and Range Rovers round here recently. Some have been recovered, and all the evidence so far points to the cars being kept in Scotland.
Once or twice the thieves (could call them something else but being polite...) have been disturbed and they have scarpered leaving behind the intact driver's window on the ground. The police have more evidence to suggest that the thieves gain access to the OBD port and thus control of the car. No evidence of key cloning. Pretty amazing that there is a way to get the window out without breaking it.
The Police suggested that a way to discourage this thieving behaviour is a physical deterrent such as a DiskLok. Trackers have also been useful in recovering quite a few vehicles. They had not heard of moving or disabling the OBD port, but thought that would be very effective based on their understanding of how these cars are getting taken.
Stay safe out there. Don't get paranoid about this stuff - they are just cars....D1 300Tdi - gone

A kill switch to the lpfp, doesn't matter how many obd tools they have it isn't going to start and they're not going to have the time to trace it.
In any case, once it fails to start after one or two attempts they'll likely scarper lest they're deed becomes obvious and attracts attention.
Very old school method for sure, but it works!yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ
