Still leaking ??
After a busy weekend chasing down and 'fixing' the proverbial water leak, I'm still not convinced I've got to the bottom of it so.................I was thinking of 'sealing' the possible entry routes with tape to see if I can get the car dry and from there, beginning a process of elimination by opening up each possible ingress one by one and observing the result.
I think there are 3 possibles at this time:
1. Sun Roof drains - have gone through the cleaning processes including trimming the outlet valves.
2. A - pillar trims - these were loose and I have now fixed them back so that the rubber seal is against the glass.
3. The lower screen trim - this does not sit against the glass on the drivers side and funnily enough this seems to be carpet that is the wettest. It looks like the screen is sitting on too little sealant at the bottom on the drivers side and this is causing a gap. The panel is otherwise fitted properly and all clips are firmly in place and pushed 'home'.
Can anyone suggest the best way of taping these up temporarily, what to use to ensure a good seal and no paintwork damage and in the worst case, what should be used to remove any residual tape adhesive after removal.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Steve,
Both the A pillar trims and the lower screen trim are cosmetics only. Them not sitting tight against the screen won't cause leakage. The problem might be underneath those trims cause that is where the screen is fixed.
Did you remove the inside pillar trims? If there is a leakage on the a pillars you should find it there.
It might be a long shot but did you check the rubber seal underneath the bonnet? This seal is connected the to lower screen trim and the body. If that came off water might come in through the air filter compartment.CLUB ILLEGAL CAR WASHERS

Ha !
Job for the weekend is to get the panel off and have a look underneath
I'm amazed at just how much water can be held in the carpets - I'm still wringing cloths out and that's a week later from 'fixing' the tubes.

I had a lot of water in the n/s footwell and it was coming in through the door card at the bottom and running over the door seal. The card had been removed previously for a dent repair and two of the clips were broken . There was also a trail of water coming from the grommet that the harness passes through for the speakers etc. I applied some sealer to the grommet and replaced all the door clips and it hasn't leaked yet . That's something else you can try.

Hi THFC,
The short answer is yes it has, but I don't know when as was prior to my ownership (only had it 6 weeks).
I'm amazed at how many people seem to be suffering with similar issues.
Think I might challenge my insurance policy cost - it went up based on the premise it was a 'high value vehicle'

Whey Hey
Poured with rain over the last couple of days and guess what - no leaks
Carpets bone dry so hoping that's the way it will stay - was well worth the few hours it took to sort.
