Steering wheel deterioration |
|
Hi All,
I'm new around here so dont have an in depth knowledge of previously discussed topics. I had a look through but couldn't find what I was lookig for.
I have a 2009 (59) disco 4 and it now has 46,000 miles on the clock. The steering wheel rim has gone super smooth and it feels cheap and nasty. The rest of the wheel is as new. Has anyone else had this?
I am on the lookout for a replacement wheel and so far Ebay seems to be the best place to get them. Does anyone know of anywhere else which might be worth a look?

How smooth is smooth? I ask because the D4 wheels are much smoother than the D3 when new.

I just need the frame. I would put my own controls, airbag, centre weight etc into the new frame.
Have you got one? My car is a 2009 disco 4. Im aware the wheel changed for the 2013 model so im not sure if it fits.

it feels like i'm driving a 20 year old escort van. Strangely having visited florida last year I can compare the feeling to that of a dolphins nose.

Wow! Land Rover are missing a huge advertising opertunity here!
Don't spend a fortune going to Florida to feel a dolphins nose,
spend it on a D4 and you will feel one every time you pose.
p.s. I've got one off a D3 I will give you that isn't smooth, it's knobbly and sticky
Welcome to the madhouse It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
