Had mine for about 2 months now it has rattle from steering over rough surfaces. Dealership tells me several others affected but Land Rover has not issued fix yet. They have found excess play in universal joint in steering column. Has anyone else had this problem and found a fix? It might only be a minor problem to the dealership but it is very annoying as any off road running and it just rattles continually Incidentally the steering wheel is also slightly out of alignment.
On seperate issue anyone know any way to have aux power outlet in boot permanently on (i.e not only with ignition on)?

I have had both of these! The steering is a bit rattly on rough ground, but not excessively so, I have never thought of it as a problem. The wheel on mine was off-set to the right a few degrees when I got it. I took it back and they corrected it.
I have often thought the car gave the impression of pulling left slightly, this could have resulted in the steering wheel appearing to be off-set to the right. Now that my dealer has fixed the leaning suspension, it does not appear to pull left anymore, and the wheel is now off-set to the left!
So it looks like I will have to take it back to get the initial steering adjustment reversed.
Is your suspension level when driving? Mine was left hand down 1 inch.

Is it designed to go off road ?
I thought it was just a big estate car that was a pain to get into multi-storey car parks and such. Like the one on Harley Street !

They used to do a 'Ford Council' - but it got mis-spelled at the factory and came out as 'Ford Consul
