United Kingdom 2007 Discovery 3 TDV6 Base 5 Seat Manual Stornoway GreyDiscovery 3
Starting issues, non runner.

Hi everyone, got a bit of a problem, my brother in laws discovery 3 TDV6 SE has thrown a hissy and enroute to work this morning it decided to play silly buggars, Transmissob fault, suspension fault followed by the disco to cut out and not start again, the Range said 50miles left in the tank, but started then died immediately after. I’ve been out to it chucked some more diesel into it to hopefully start it but to no avail.

The fuel warning light is blinking - is this a sign of no fuel? Literally nothing? Or something else?
It is know to have a faulty cluster and known to bash the dash to start some times. Would it be something to do with this or something totally unrelated? The range left stated 50 miles but after every time I turned ignition on then off it kept dropping mile and ended up at 39 left in the tank.

Could it be possible for another situation where HPFP Or Belt?

Help in right direction would be appreciated

Thanks

flashing light means VERY low.

But it may not be truthful.

Not sure if the imboloiser is part of the dash on these. So if it's not working......

I have read somewhere that immobiliser is connected through the dash but unsure. So if the fuel warning light is flashing that means the fuel is very low? If it’s that low low would the car say to low on fuel and not start? I did put 5 litres in but didn’t even move the needle or Range didn’t change either.

I've started one with a flashing light.

Right so potentially looking at something else then.

Right so after getting a chance to go see the disco and read some codes it’s coming back as the following;
P1623 - immobiliser code word/identifications number write failure
P2290 - injector control pressure to low
P0191 - fuel rail pressure sensor range/performance

High speed, medium can bus from instruments cluster which I already knew about

Is this the high pressure pump failure ? Won’t start. Got quarter tank of diesel in.

I have just had to replace the cluster on mine.

While the old cluster was playing up, it would not let the car start.

If it was running, it would stay running, but if you turned it off, it won't restart.

Disconnecting the plug on the back and reconnecting often helped.

Equally, locking the car and letting it fall asleep seemed to help.
New gearbox & TC, 3 x front wheel bearings, belts changed, new oil pump, new battery, new rear prop, new front prop, new front diff, front arb refurbed, front cv boot kit, egr blank and BAS software patch, full rear suspension / drivelive rebuild, new front arms, LED trailer light fix, split charge.
Never had a 107, 90 or 127, but have had most of the rest!

It was the Low pressure fuel pump in the tank, was Censored and covered in black slime. All fixed now apart from the instrument cluster needs to be changed but don’t know any one with the right tool to program it.
