Have you tried the above?- it is far easier and safer than bump starting and will eliminate the earth cable if it makes no difference Thumbs Up

All sorted. Thanks for the pointers and tips everyone.
Starter motor was dead. Replacement fitted and all is well.
Not an ideal night for lying on your back on a gravel drive trying to work out how the hell you get to the various bolts and then actually get the starter of of the available hole.
