Standard halogen lamps.

Sorry, just need clarification.

Headlamp bulb has gone, but haven't got car at moment. Is the standard halogen a H7. Want to upgrade them at some point, but haven't got the time yet. Just need to get some ordered so they are there when I get back home.

Is there a max wattage? Seen 55w & 100w ones.

I know there will be comments of how bad they are, but just need a bulb to keep me ticking over for now.

Thanks

+1 for Osrams.

I tried the "super dooper Japanese mega value but much brighter" option in both 55W and 100W Whistle and had this happen with the 55W …

and something similar but not as catastrophic with the 100W ones.

Still miss the Xenons from first D4 but can't justify the spend.

the 100w bulbs always used to be illegal for on road use, not sure if that has changed. They were also good for frying looms. Big Cry

maybe they still are illegal ? Whistle

however … compared to the light xenons throw out nobody is ever going to spot them when in use. and MoT testers are not going to pull out the grille, remove the headlamp unit, extract the bulb and read the (lack of) E-code.

So one of these has now gone. Fitted the pair in September.

As a consensus, who uses auto lights as opposed to manually putting them on?

Hanfrauds fit bulbs for free! Or nearly free Laughing
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

I tried nightbreakers iand they didn’t last more than a few months, did a bit of a mooch on t’intetweb thingie and I wasn’t alone. On here lots happy with them but that wasn’t my experience so I haven’t darkened their door since, changed to Philips. Thumbs Up

Thanks DSL.

Great light from them, but would expect more than 6 months usage.

Scrub that ... remembered where I was when I fitted them. About 12 months. Still not very good.

+1 for nightbreakers however I had one go after 4 months...

Picked up a +150% Xenon gas filled Halfords one for £14 and it emits a very similar coloured and powereed light and spread to the Nightbreakers. I wouldn't normally do Halfrauds but it was dark and I needed to get a bulb in quickly.

I will let you know how I get on...
