SRS issue b00d2-68 (af) but goes away in the damp
Hi,
I have an srs light on the dash with the attached error message.
I’ve had it in with my mechanic who says that it’s a short across the dash rather than the wiring or airbags. Some days the indicator is brighter and some days duller.
However a further observation is that is goes away when the weather is damp or it’s been raining.
To my untrained eye it looks like it could be a grounding issue or something caused by an external factor if only because of the weather aspect.
Does anyone have any words of wisdom as to where the problem could lie? It will no doubt go back to the mechanic soon so he can have a look as well
He’s already checked the wiring under the drivers seat
Thanks

Hi
Wonder if this may help u as saw this a few years ago ref a LHD LR3
1. Disconnect Battery, wait for 20 x mins
2. Turn on ignition keys and place foot on brake for 30 seconds
3. Remove SRS plug under front passengers seats behind plastic panel and spray with no conductive contact cleaner.
4. Reinstall.
5. Remove panel under steering wheel -pull from top and hing down -watch out for clips, remove light switch panel to side of steering wheel - retrieve clips.
6. Remove small panel on other side of steering wheel -retrieve clips,
7. Remove 2 torx 20mm screws to left and right holding plastic arching steering wheel .
8. Pull steering wheel back and down .
9. Wiggle plastic arching cover or cowling towards driver and wiggle down exposing 2 torx
27 screws holding instrument cluster in place and remove screws with 300mm flexi socket extension with a torx bit with a small ratchet or socket drive by squeezing between plastic panels to left and right of steering wheel.
10. Remove 2 instrument screws and place cotton cloth in front of instrument cluster and steering wheel.
11. Get a 20mm flat plastic panel removal tool and wedge between top of cluster and dash wgdging in a downward motion.
12. At same time -gently pull bottom of dash toward driver.
13.remove cluster by tilting top forward and out at 45 degrees.
14. Rest on cloth and remove hing bracket on plug.
15. Spray contact cleaner on plug terminals and with cluster gauges pointing to sky -spray instrument cluster socket.
16. Insert plug 5 x in and out to clean pins.
17. Connect plug - Connect Battery start car and check SRS Alarm on LCD display far right on instruments.
18. Check for Air Bag light.
Diagnostic with no scan tool.
Now dont panic if air bag light is on oand SRS LCD display is gone. turn of car and restart
Airbag light gone and SRS should disappear..
If No -dont panic
with car running move plug to try and force a fault but dont unplug.
Watch the SRS and air bag light come and go.
If this is the case - disconnect batt and press brake pedal.
Remove cluster plug and take off back whit cluster panel.
Plug in cluster and connect bat.
Turn on car and get a insulated screw driver and with handle tap the back of green all over PCB until SRS alarm display disappears and reappears.
I resoldered "not re-sodded" as our mates in USA say -the pins on my instrument cluster socket
and main LDC display.
The fault is a CAM Bus fault with restraint system no talking clearly with parts in your LR3.
My fault after my instrument pannel was re flashed with upto date firmware at rover was
an intermittent PCB.
