Squeeling Handbrake
Our car has suffered the odd time from this squeeling when you drive off after having the handbrake set.
We took it to the dealer a couple of months ago after it had done it all that particular weekend. They couldnt find anything wrong with it from a 'cursory look'.
Its now started doing it again and this morning it did it when i left a petrol station with startled looks from other people filling their cars.
I need to contact the dealer again as in 4 weeks im off on a tour of Scandinavia and should do at least a couple of thousand miles and i dont want this squeeling to spoil my enjoyment in a fantastic car with outstanding scenery.................or worse, that it lets me down completely.
Does anyone have any clues so that i can point the dealer in the right direction.
Mine did the same. I got the usual excellent service from my dealer - they booked me in the next day and, apparently, all it needed was the pads and rims cleaning out and some minor realignment. It's a common problem so your dealer should have heard about it.

Mine is the same, however it mainly does it in reverse, it is having its first service on Friday and it is on the list of things to do, I will let you know what happens.
After reading much about this issue I also think it just needs a good clean and a minor adjustment.

Well it was not just dirt, according to the nice girl at MacRae & Dick it had been due a recall for this issue, a good chunk of the EPB was replaced. Just time will tell I suppose. I am surprised by this as it is a MY06 and the TSB that is discussed on this forum is for older models, now I am Will keep an eye on it.
Hudsonian, is there any chance you can get details of this recall? Mine's an 06 and they just keep cleaning it. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

I've been assured mine had all applicable TSBs applied before I picked it up in Feb. Rumours abound of a revised actuator motor, but I've no idea if such a thing exists.I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
