Hi - I'm on my 2nd D4 and the 2nd one has squeaky steering. A squeaking noise can be heard when I have to turn lock to lock for example when parking. I've done some searching on past posts and found that it could be insufficient lubrication of power steering rack pinion oil seal. Does anyone know whether the seal can be lubricated without taking the rack off the car (the manual shows a dust seal which presumably would need to be removed) or does the car need to go back to LR for warranty work?

My 'steering wheel' has been squeaking for the last few months - ever since the weather warmed up - and yet last year nothing??? WTF? along with the clicking/rattle from the drivers B pillar (right in my effin' ear) - I've lost the love for the car ..... dealers can't resolve either despite numerous visits and its only a year old......

I had this problem on mine. They fixed it by changing a "cassette" in the steering ? Cant tell you any more than that I'm afraid !! Velar MY18 D180 S Narvik
