Squeaking rear suspension

Hi.

I've had a look through previous posts and I think this is down to a bush, but would like a second option. It goes in for the mot next week, so if there are worn bushes, it should come up on that.

I do have a video of the mouse but don't know how to add it.

Cheers Paul

I had a creak for years, turned out to be a front suspension top arm bush. Had never been picked up on an MOT. Both front bottom ball joints had significant play, but again, not picked up on MOT, even when I'd pointed out to the tester that there was an occasional clonk from the front.

These cars are so heavy, it masks the testers ability to get any movement in the bushes or ball joints, even with the hydraulic shaker plates they use now.

Video below of the creaky bush, when I was changing all the arms. The bush had separated from the outer steel tube.

Mine is NSR, TBH the only reason I noticed it was when my son opened his window whilst I was driving last night. Ill wait and see if tge Mot picks anything up and go from there.

Knuckle bushes make noise like that.Usually the bottom one. One way to pinpoint the problematic one on the knuckle is to inject oil through the s syringe needle into the bushing.

My 06 D3 started recently with the same squeak in the video. Haven't had it in yet, but curious what you find as well.

Hi

Thanks for the replies. It goes in tomorrow for the MoT, if nothing is highlighted from that then I will start my own investigation. I will keep you all posted on what it is.
Cheers
