Today I had a "Bing" when driving. There was no message or warning light on the dash to go along with it. I think I had the same a few months ago, but thought I had mis-heard it. Any ideas chaps?

Mine does it every other trip.
It is not the +4 warning.

I was trying to say I checked and in my case it isn't.
But good to see you ruled that out too.

Passenger seat belt 'fat bloke alarm' on mine - if I had put something on the seat and then in the foot well - I clipped up the belt and it never came back ...? until I did it again with a 1ltr flask ! which rolled off....
Lurk Why do I have 2 big hands when my D3 maintenance requires small hands and at least three of them ?
No SWMBO was in the passenger seat and she ain't no lightweight!! Anyway she insists on wearing the set belt, just incase I go to 'Action Stations'!!!!! Run silent, run deep!! HM Submarines Conqueror, Churchill, Renown, Ocelot, Porpoise, Onslaught.

Have you disabled seat-belt alarm? Had same problem until disabled, with or without someone in passenger seat. The sensor in the passenger seat is very sensitive, can damn near set mine off with a feather

Is it anything to do with any other actions such as breaking wind, you may find that could have an effect, maybe smell around a little after the next buzz just to rule it out

breaking wind
I must say that it usually happens with nobody in the passenger seat.
Can it react to breaking wind in the driver's seat?

Just popped out to test that theory? Parp! Parp! Parp! not a 'Bing' to be heard? There was however, a choking sound, maybe the Land Rover gremlin is suffering a bit ?????? Run silent, run deep!! HM Submarines Conqueror, Churchill, Renown, Ocelot, Porpoise, Onslaught.

Check your oil level and see if it is close to the MINIMUM mark.
I can't explain why, but the 2-3 times I've had a second bing on start-up and a random bing whilst driving over the last 3 years have also coincided with the oil level being lower than normal (normal for me being mid-way to max).
Worth a shot and it'll only take you a minute to check 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

Oil level... that's what the dealer looks after, right?
