Spotlights vandalised
Afternoon All,
I've just noticed that someone has smashed my front lamp and stolen the guard off the other.
My options are:
1. Drive around as normal and tell everyone I'm a serious off-roader.
2. Replace both lamps and guards at around £400.
3. Replace the NS guard at a cost of around £40.
4. Just remove the lamps.
5. Look at getting a new style of lamps.
Any suggestion is appreciated.

Tricky one this as I have these lights and I find they are simply crap compared to full beam and I have considered upgrading them. I've got other projects on at the moment so haven't done all my research but I seem to recall learning that one can upgrade the guts with LEDs and retain the OEM look. I think this would be my preferred choice since I've got the A Frame and I kinda like the look. This would lean toward you repairing your lamps' exterior. You'll need a new lens as well as a keen-eyed MOT inspector may well fail them if they are wired to High Beam.
I'd be keen to hear if you think they add anything in terms of useful light output?
One thought does come to mind though although it's probably moot. It seems unlikely it happened from a theft point of view and may have been an impact especially since they appear the most forward part of your vehicle. If it's recent and you've only parked in a couple of places you might find the guard hanging around somewhere...
I do worry about theft too though so I always nosey park on the drive to try and hide the fact they are there.LR3 MY05 TDV6 2.7 HSE - 130k

I worry about my lights being nicked also, I did think about cross drilling the nuts and wire locking them on but just assume if somebody has the tools, they just cut the wires.

Strangely enough she has just passed the MoT with the cracked lens, the beams still work and are connected to the high beam. I'm quite happy with the output, we live down an unadopted unlit lane and with full beam on the front is like a lighthouse. For the short term I've managed to get a new guard for thirty quid, I'm not sure how to go forward with replacing the glass on the OS lamp - it looks like you need to buy thw whole unit which are about £250.

Crikey! I've just Googled those, if I put them on my car it would instantly double the value.

I installed 3 weeks ago a pair of Cargo LED spotlights
Cargo 172059 should be readily available in the UK for approx 117 gbp each..
Weight: 1,61 kg
Volt 10-30, Watt 60, Type LED measurements mm 222x177.8x79, , Material alloy and Polycarbonate lens, IP:67, Kelvin: 6000, Lumen: 5400,
The “rings” can be wired as daytime runninglights ( ignition on, light switch off, daytime running lights=on)
They look like this
And in the dark
Daytime running light looks like this
I have a video, made in the dark, with the effective output to see, but need to upload it somewere first..
They add a lot of light…

A broken spotlight lens won’t fail the MoT - one of mine’s been broken for years.
Agree the LR spots add nothing at night. That’s why I’ve never bothered fixing mine. In fact if you have the adaptive lighting that points with the steering, they just reduce the effect. I am tempted by these Stedi lights or the new round Lazer ones though!

Will.i.am are those the 7” Stedis? Did they just fit on the A bar where the LR spotlamps go?
