RAC man arrived five hours later. It started straight up. He’s read the codes written a report and it’s going to be looked at by..... god knows. My local specialist is all booked until Dec and I need a local to Leicestershire place. Any suggestions for a competent place in Leicestershire to fix it?
RAC bloke suspects the in tank low pressure fuel pump. Shame I put fifty quid in it yesterday morning. Discovery 3 tdv6 HSE 2007

Read the guide- thanks for the tip- and it appears to cover my issues. My problem is we are between homes waiting for probate to be granted on the one we are buying with all my tools/ garage packed in store. I don’t even have a drive to work on somthe job is going to have to be done at a specialist. The one we use is booked all through to early January.....the wiring loom connector behind the arch cover and pump would seem to be the next step. Reading the codes only shows issues further down the stream. Discovery 3 tdv6 HSE 2007

Before starting on the tank removal this morning the garage put a gauge on the high pressure fuel pump.
The car won’t start and was recovered to the garage which is a good thing for aiding diagnosis of the issues.
There is pressure from the pump in the tank so saves a job of removing that but it would suggest that the high pressure fuel pump is the problem. That is getting removed tested and replaced if necessary.
The garage think that the high pressure pump has been failing which has been causing the intermittent faults and the limp home mode. Eventually it appears it’s given up the ghost. If the pump is gone it’s £1,300 to get a recon one fitted and get the car up and running once again.
Conking out has hopefully saved me four hundred changing th e low pressure pump in the tank.
The codes are not a great deal of help to be honest. It’s a proper specialist place it’s at. Well thought of too.
I’m just hoping I can get back to using the car again. It’s been incredibly useful since buying it and I’m quite attached to it. Disco 4 next I think but I’m hoping to get this 3 past 200,000 miles at least. Discovery 3 tdv6 HSE 2007
