Spare Wheel Sizes

I originally had 17" wheels, but upgraded to 18" ones Razz

Am I correct that the space saver spare wheel that I have from new, is compatible with the 18" wheels because the external diameter of all (17", 18", 19"), is actually the same due to the variation of the tyre height? Rolling Eyes LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.
