Evening all. I went to fit my spare wheel today back in the cradle after swapping from 255 50 20s to 255 55 20s with at tyres. after fitting the new tyres it will not go in the cradle. The car is a my 65 on add blue.
Has any one had the same issue and what did you do to cure it.
Cheers

it should go in but its tight. I have a 275/45x21 wich is the pretty much same diameter as a 255/55x20 (mne is 30.7" yours is 31") on my spare and its a squeeze (mine is a MY16 with adblue as well). It might be down to the bigger tread on the AT tyres. Try letting some air out. I find I have to get the front (side nearest the center of the car) in first then it will come up into the wheel bay OK. I also have the fixed towbar fitted and it clears this as well.

I had a similar problem when fitting my anti theft shield and it took me ages to get it back. When I read the manual it states that you should take note of the way the wheel is fitted, which I didn't but after a few turns of the wheel and raising it in different positions it finally racked up home and is now tight up under.
I still have no idea what or why it has to have a 'Special' position when being hoisted up but I got there in the end.

Yes, I thought so too but try as I may it did not wind fully up initially so a bit of twisting, grunting and groaning got it up fully eventually.

I'll try letting some air out to see if that helps.
Thanks for the pointer
