I have had two occasions when faulty/stuck tyre valves have caused me to lose air. On one occasion the tyre shop put a new value core in for me. On the other a bit of frantic prodding re-seated the valve "needle" and it stopped leaking. However I resolved to carry spare cores in future.
I have found a place on the interweb that sell the valve core key for about 99p plus VAT. I just need a few spare cores.
Does anyone know where one can buy value cores? Central Tyre sell neither the cores nor the tools.
Are they the same cores as in a Schrader valve on a bicycle inner tube (which I've got loads of)?
cheers

Surely this is one - for a few pieces of silver directly into the hand of a quik-fit-fitter ? "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

Judging from the blank looks I got today - I'd rather source a pukka supply.
cheers

A schraeder valve is a schraeder valve, so should be. Certainly when I took the core out of one of my car tyre valves (trying out my sexy APB tyre deflator) it appeared identical to the ones on the many and various bike inner tubes littering my workshop. Bike tyres often run at 60psi too, so no problems with the loading on the valve. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Any tyre service should have hundreds lying around spare.
You shouldnt have to pay for them, especially if its your local dealer Pete

Should have checked them earlier, but... Halfords do spare Schrader valve cores and the little tool you need to extract and replace them.
I replaced two cores and now my tyres don't deflate whenever I check their pressures.
Another major maintenance job successfully completed, I'm sure you'll agree. Should I publish pictures and a step by step guide?
cheers
