South Gloucestershire / Bristol Lanes

Hi all,

Had my D3 for only a week but absolutely loving it.

I've aimed it at all puddles and muddy verges I can find while driving it for general use but I'm keen to have a go at my first but of laning.

Can anyone recommend where to hear in the South Gloucestershire area to start?

Cheers,

Lewis

From there, you're better off heading east towards Salisbury Plain. A huge selection to choose from, just ensure you abide by local and MOD bylaws.

A few on the Mendips and Somerset also, but far too wet and boggy I would say at the moment

From the state of my motor, and the amount of mud there, the old gloucester road from hambrook to tytherington is a good start.

Only joking, it's metalled all the way, but my D3 ends up plastered after a few days this time of year!

Fosseway from Bath ish area to Kemble airfield is a good gentle starter. Some nice fords, a few muddy bits but mainly hard track. Still a nice drive though.

+1 for the Fosseway from Kemble to Tormarton. Some sections not available but a decent hard trail with a nice ford at Brokenbrough. As with most lanes, check conditions before heading out. The current wet weather means they are likely to get cut up too much. If in doubt then wait until drier conditions as it will benefit us all in the long run.
